Pathfinder: Kingmaker brings the tabletop RPG to PC this summer

That’s about to change with Pathfinder: Kingmaker, and developers Owlcat Games have provided an updated look at the game.

Set in the Pathfinder world of Golarion, Kingmaker - loosely based on the adventure path of the same title - will introduce you to characters new and old as you take command of a kingdom in the Stolen Lands and shape its future. You can claim territory from bandits and monsters and rebuild villages with specific structures, and parts of your kingdom will eventually take on a moral alignment as they grow based on your actions, letting you become a friendly king or a slightly less nice tyrant.

Twitch layoffs affect some of the company’s top executives and creators

Twitch have reportedly laid off over 25 people, including many major names which have been with the company for years. The news first came from esports analyst Rod Breslau on Twitter, and former director of content marketing Ben “FishStix” Goldhaber essentially confirmed the news a few hours later. Twitch have provided the same statement to all outlets asking about the matter.

“Coming off the record-setting numbers shared in our 2017 Retrospective, Twitch is continuing to grow and advance with success stories from Overwatch League to Fortnite’s milestone-setting streams. In order to maintain this momentum, we have an aggressive growth strategy for 2018 with plans to increase our headcount by approximately 30%. While we’ve conducted team adjustments in some departments, our focus is on prioritizing areas most important for the community.”

Kansas lawmakers pass tougher anti-swatting laws after last year’s deadly incident

Update, March 30: Much tougher false alarm punishments are about to become law in Kansas after last year’s deadly swatting call.

Last year, Wichita, Kansas resident Andrew Finch was shot and killed by police responding to a false report of a hostage situation at a local home. None of the individuals allegedly involved in the swatting prank were connected to Finch. Now, Kansas lawmakers have a bill increasing the penalties for false emergency reports leading to injury or death, and that bill is set to soon become law.

The Andrew T. Finch bill - or HB 2581 - has passed both sides of the Kansas state legislature. The House voted 117-0, and the Senate voted 40-0 in favour. After those unanimous approvals, the bill now only needs the signature of Governor Jeff Colyer to become law.

Telltale’s take on The Walking Dead has been keeping up a steady drip of zombie horror and personal drama for over half a decade, but things are set to come to a close this year - or starting this year, anyway. The Walking Dead: The Final Season will premiere in 2018, and it will have you “finish Clementine’s story.”

We’ve known that the series would begin soon - and that it will feature the returning writing talents of Gary Whitta - but today Telltale provided the first concrete image of the game, as well as its final title.

The image of Clementine standing as a protector over young AJ is a nice thematic callback for those who’ve been following the series from the start.

PUBG’s new event mode lets you call supply drops wherever you want

Update, March 30: The new PUBG event mode is live, dropping flare guns so you can call in your own care packages.

It’s raining supply drops in the second event mode for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The event is already underway, adding the flare gun and allowing players who collect it to call in supply drops wherever you are. This event lasts until April 1 at 19:00 PDT / 23:00 EDT or April 2 at 2:00 GMT.

The flare gun, first teased last week, brings down a care package to your location. You have to aim vertically for it to work, and the flare has to reach an altitude of at least 200 meters. Premium PC game sales jumped in February alongside declining free-to-play revenue

I have always thought I would be a good parent - upstanding and wise, like Atticus Finch. But those close to me disagree. The consensus is that I am too career focused, busy, and impatient to care for a real child right now. And as my spider-like offspring scrambles around the fridge, looking for leftover potato chips, while I am busy seducing the widow next door, I have to say - maybe they’re right.

Unfortunately, the reality is that raising children is hell. If anyone knows this, it is the designers behind the original The Sims, who juggled their family life to bring us our virtual, Stepford one.
