Its graphical user interface is often overly opaque, and also at instances Fallout 4 has a number of the exact technical dilemmas since Bethesda's prior matches, from unusual AI quirks to performance hitches and genuine hard locks of the computer software. Competency must not be considered a bullet tip to get a game's store web page, however, it was obscure to really enjoy the gunplay in fall-out 4 soon after trudging through the controls in literally every other game Bethesda was left. Functional used to be the watchword, plus it's been replaced by something that can actually be fun. Clearly, skill shots aren't always possible, and weapons have stats that influence precision, their effectiveness, recoil and the like -- particularly today that you may alter just about every object of equipment.

In spite of that shift, Fallout 4 feels familiar outside at the Commonwealth, fall out's alternate history catchall merging of those brand new England states that nearly all reluctantly includes Massachusetts and Boston. Except that fall out 4's shooting and movement allow it to feel like a more practical, qualified shooter now. Like every fall out game, fall-out 4 places you in the sneakers of a fish from water, then thrown into the wasteland remains of the nuclear post-apocalypse. Bekijk hier de Ubisoft E3 2018 livestream

Uitgever en ontwikkelaar Ubisoft zendt ook dit jaar weer een eigen E3-persconferentie uit. De studio houdt een presentatie op maandag 11 juni die hier om 22:00 uur begint.

Wat kunnen we dit jaar van Ubisoft verwachten? De studio heeft onlangs Assassin's Creed Odyssey onthuld, dus het lijkt aannemelijk dat die game wordt getoond. Verder heeft Ubisoft al zijn E3 line-up onthuld. Zo zijn The Division 2 en Beyond Good and Evil 2 ook van de partij.

Gerucht: Assassin's Creed Odyssey release gelekt

De Assassin's Creed Odyssey release is gelekt op ResetEra. Volgens het gerucht komt de game uit op 5 oktober.

The Quiet Man onthuld

The Quiet Man is onthuld tijdens de Square-Enix persconferentie voor de PlayStation 4 en pc.

In de trailer is te zien hoe een doofstomme jongen twee mannen in elkaar slaat. De trailer begint als live-action maar switcht dan naar in-game graphics.

Er is nog geen verdere info over de game bekend. De uitgever belooft 'meer in augustus'.

De cinematische trailer laat de geschiedenis van de wereld zien, maar is niet duidelijk over wat voor game het feitelijk is. Wel is duidelijk dat de game door PlatinumGames wordt gemaakt.

Final Fantasy 14 en Monster Hunter krijgen een crossover

Tijdens de Square Enix conferentie is een crossoverevenement tussen Final Fantasy 14 en Monster Hunter aangekondigd.

In de korte trailer wordt jouw character door een Palico benaderd, waarna er een reusachtige Rathalos op ze neerdaalt. Het ziet er naar uit dat de Rathalos een monster wordt om met een groep spelers te bevechten.

Het crossoverevenement gaat in de zomer van 2018 van start.

Metal Wolf Chaos XD aangekondigd

Tijdens de E3 2018 van Devolver Digital is Metal Wolf Chaos XD aangekondigd. From Software bracht de originele Metal Wolf Chaos in 2004 enkel in Japan uit voor de Xbox. De remaster lanceert lanceert later dit jaar voor pc, PlayStation 4 en Xbox One.

In de game speel je als Michael Wilson, de nieuwe president van de Verenigde Staten en tevens Mech-piloot. De remaster belooft onder andere verbeterde graphics, resoluties tot 4K. Daarnaast komen er ook verbeteringen voor de gameplay en krijgt de game een nieuwe manier om te saven.

Er is meer From Software-gerelateerd nieuws. Tijdens de E3 2018 persconferentie van Microsoft is Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice aangekondigd.

One Piece Grand Cruise review - VReselijk oppervlakkig

In deze One Piece Grand Cruise review springt Sander Virtual Reality in om rond te hangen met zijn favoriete piratencrew. Het is echter al snel duidelijk dat de game weinig om het lijf heeft.

Het grootste goed van virtual reality is de mogelijkheid om pal in het midden van je favoriete werelden te staan, oog in oog met je helden waarvan je al hun avonturen tot in de kleinste details kent. One Piece is zo'n wereld. Daarom klinkt de belofte van One Piece Grand Cruise om zij aan zij met Monkey D. Luffy en zijn kameraden te strijden in 'woeste gevechten' die je 'van je sokken blazen' zo aanlokkelijk. Je doet er echter verstandig aan om deze cruise aan je voorbij te laten gaan.

Er zijn twee opdrachten uit te voeren in One Piece Grand Cruise: je kanon afvuren op de boten van de marine, of je kanon afvuren op een reusachtige Kraken. Je maakt deel uit van een team andere rekruten, die niet door andere spelers bestuurd worden. Je doel is om meer punten te scoren dan het andere team en persoonlijk door Luffy bedankt te worden. De twee opdrachten hebben geen aanpasbare moeilijkheidsgraden en bevatten totaal geen variatie, mocht je besluiten om de taak te herspelen. Binnen twee uur heb je alles gezien wat de game te bieden heeft en zet je gedesillusioneerd je VR-helm af. De Grand Cruise is eerder een korte toeristische rondvaart dan een episch avontuur.

Ontwikkelaar Square Enix organiseert dit jaar een eigen persconferentie op de E3-beurs. De studio zendt hier een presentatie uit op maandag 11 juni om 19:00 uur.

Wat kunnen we dit jaar van Square verwachten? We weten onder andere dat het bedrijf aan een Final Fantasy 7 Remake werkt. Ook is de studio al enige tijd bezig met Kingdom Hearts 3. Het bedrijf geeft ook Shadow of the Tomb Raider uit.

Pre-orders get you early access to Shadow of the Tomb Raider, here's a new trailer

Shadow of the Tomb Raider got a new trailer at Microsoft's E3 2018 show, which teases the game's premise (though Matt saw it a little while ago - you can read all about it here). We also learned that pre-ordering the game will get you a period of early access.

Desperate to keep villainous organisation Trinity from a magically powerful dagger, Lara nicks it herself, inadvertantly destabilising whatever it was keeping stable and thus initiating the Mayan apocalypse. Whoops.

The Division 2 speelt zich af in Washington D.C.

Tijdens de E3 2018 is The Division 2 officieel aangekondigd. De game speelt zich af in Washington D.C. en vindt ongeveer zes maanden na de gebeurtenissen in de eerste game plaats. De game lanceert op 15 maart 2019.

Doorheen de game raak je verwikkeld in een burgeroorlog in de stad. De missies spelen zich zowel in als rond Washington D.C. af. Zo bevinden er zich buiten de hoofdstad kleine kampen die je kunt verkennen.

The Division 2 introduceert ook verschillende nieuwe items. Zo krijgt de game onder andere seeker mines. Ook speelt de game zich af in de zomer, in tegenstelling tot de winterse setting van de eerste The Division.

Nieuwe We Happy Few release bekendgemaakt

We Happy Few heeft een nieuwe releasedatum gekregen. De game lanceert op 10 augustus 2018 op de pc en Xbox One.

Microsoft heeft tijdens de E3 2018 bekendgemaakt dat het enkele studio's overgenomen heeft, waaronder We Happy Few-ontwikkelaar Compulsion Games. De game komt dus niet naar de PlayStation 4.

De game stond oorspronkelijk voor 13 april 2018 gepland, maar werd begin dit jaar uitgesteld.

PUBG’s new snow map is coming winter 2018

After a year of speculation it was revealed that the next PUBG map after Sanhok is indeed set in a snowy environment. More importantly, the new snow map has a vague release date: winter 2018. This all came via a snippet of footage at the end of PUBG’s showing at Microsoft's E3 2018 press conference. Also revealed was the release date for Sanhok, summer 2018.

It also looks like we’ll be able to track other players by their footprints, which should lead to some interesting new tactics.

PUBG krijgt updates op Xbox One

Tijdens de Xbox Media Briefing zijn updates voor de Xbox-versie van PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds getoond.

In de zomer van 2018 wordt de map Sanhok toegevoegd aan de Xbox-versie van de game. Tevens toonde de trailer 'War Mode', alsook nieuwe wapens en nieuwe omgevingen. Deze updates worden in de winter van 2018 toegevoegd. Het is nog niet duidelijk of de game dan ook het Xbox Preview Program verlaat.

Microsoft acquires Ninja Theory and four more studios

Microsoft just announced that it’s acquiring Ninja Theory, the developers of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. The studio is one of five that Phil Spencer just announced have been acquired by Microsoft at the company's E3 conference early today.

Microsoft also announced the founding of a new studio, The Initiative, based in Santa Monica, who are creating new game experiences. 

They also bought Undead Labs, State of Decay developers Undead Labs. And have also acquired Forza and Forza Horizon developers PlayGround Games (who just announced UK-based Forza Horizon 4).

 

If that wasn’t all, Phil Spencer also announced that We Happy Few studio Compulsion Games would be joining their new lineup of studios.

Fallout 76 prequel wordt vier keer zo groot

Fallout 76 wordt vier keer zo groot als Fallout 4. Dat heeft Todd Howard tijdens de Microsoft E3 2018 liveshow gezegd.

Het verhaal speelt zich in de heuvels van West-Virginia af. Je bent een van de eerste die voet op de Wasteland zet, met als bedoeling een Amerika opnieuw op te bouwen.

De Bethesa-topman zei daarnaast tijdens de presentatie dat het om een prequel op de andere games gaat. Het is op het moment van schrijven echter nog steeds onduidelijk of Fallout 76 singleplayer of multiplayer gaat.

Forza Horizon 4 aangekondigd

Tijdens de Xbox Media Briefing is Forza Horizon 4 aangekondigd.

De game speelt zich af in Groot Brittannië, en in de trailer is te zien hoe verschillende typen auto's door het landschap heen scheuren. Er zijn Trucks, Rallywagens, Buggies en motoren getoond, waarmee je ook offroad kunt gaan.

De game bevat een shared open world, wat inhoudt dat alle racers ook effectief andere spelers zijn. Om communicatie te faciliteren is er een Quick Chat functie, en het is mogelijk om elkaar eenvoudig uit te nodigen voor evenementen.

Forza Horizon 4 is set in the UK and is out this year

Forza Horizon 4 will release on October 2nd, and will be "set in beautiful, historic Britain," in the words of Playground Games' creative director Ralph Fulton. That's something of a big deal, as rumours had previously suggested the series was headed to Japan. There followed some typically stunning graphics, showing off our damp little island at its very best. 

You'll race around in a shared open world with other players. Exciting new features include dynamic seasons, which will join with dynamic weather and time of day to "change everything." The demo showed two snippets of gameplay, one in autumn, one in winter - when thick snow makes for more challenging handling, and a lake has frozen over to open up a new gameplay area. A blimp indicates the opening of a new world event - a race over the lake.

Sea of Thieves will get two new expansions this summer

Two new expansions for Sea of Thieves have just been announced at Microsoft's E3 conference. Cursed Sailes and The Forsaken Shore will both arrive in the game over the summer, with the first going live in June and the second in September.

The updates will add plenty of new content to Rare's seafaring adventure, including, it would seem, skeleton crews that will sail the sea taking on unfortunate sailors. It seems that that will herald the arrival of a new boss, a new skeleton captain for players to take on, much like the Kraken and the Magalodon.

It also suggests that there'll be new volcanic islands added, potentially, as a new area of the map.

Metro Exodus release bekendgemaakt

Op de E3 2018 is de releasedatum van Metro Exodus bekendgemaakt. De game lanceert op 22 februari voor pc, PlayStation 4 en Xbox One.

In de game speel je opnieuw als Artyom. Ook krijgt je toegang tot meer attachments voor je wapens. Zo zijn er onder andere dempers en speciale laders. Net zoals in de vorige delen speelt ook Metro Exodus zich zowel bovengronds als ondergronds af.

De trailer toont ook beelden van een trein en een boot. Het is echter niet duidelijk of je die ook zelf kunt besturen. Eerder maakte Ontwikkelaar 4A Games al bekend dat Metro Exodus geen open world game is.

Terry Crews is terug in nieuwe Crackdown 3 trailer

Microsoft heeft tijdens zijn E3 persconferentie een nieuwe Crackdown 3 trailer laten zien met Terry Crews in de hoofdrol. Hij speelt wederom een Agent in de game. De trailer toont onder andere meer vernieling en Agility Orbs.

Daarnaast is te zien dat je met wagens op de kanten van gebouwen kunt rijden en je voertuigen in tanks kunt veranderen wanneer je daar vaardig genoeg voor bent, kun. Er is ook een wapen dat eendjes afvuurt. Crackdown 3 komt in februari 2019 exclusief op de Xbox One uit.

Tijdens de Xbox Media Briefing is Kingdom Hearts 3 aangekondigd voor de Xbox One.

Tijdens de getoonde trailer is tegelijkertijd de wereld van Frozen aangekondigd. Sora, Donald en Goofy ontmoeten Anna en Elsa, tijdens een periode dat Elsa worstelt met haar ijskrachten. Tegen het einde van de trailer is ook een gecorrumpeerde Aqua te zien.

Naar verwachting wordt er meer van Kingdom Hearts 3 tijdens de Square Enix persconferentie getoond.

Where was Crackdown 3's awesome destruction tech at E3?

Crackdown 3 got a brief showing at Microsoft's E3 2018 presentation, with a lot of shouting from the irrepressible Terry Crews and a lot of things blowing up. That's fair, as being able to blow stuff up has been a key selling point of this game - indeed, the initial marketing suggested we'd be able to destroy literally every single building in the game.

But in a trailer that contained some pretty interesting new gameplay - such as driving cars up vertical surfaces and spontaneously turning them into tanks - the only environmental destruction we saw was a few silos blowing up at around 49 seconds in the trailer below. That's really nothing we haven't seen before, and there was no evidence of being able to destroy literally anything we wanted.

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is a new game in the Life is Strange Universe

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit has just been announced at the Micorosft E3 conference. The game, developed by Dontnod Studios, is set in the Life is Strange universe, following a new, male protagonist, a young boy named Chris.

Chris' story is based around his childlike imagination, and his story takes him to alien planets in his superhero alias Captain Spirit. The trailer suggests he struggles with popularity at school, and the story may cover the loss of his mother.

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit will be available to download for free from the Xbox Store on June 26.

FromSoftware’s new game is Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and it looks a lot like Nioh

The cryptic Shadows Die Twice has been officially unveiled at the Microsoft E3 2018 press conference as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Set in a mythical twist on feudal Japan, Sekiro is an action-RPG in the same vein as Dark Souls, but with a lot more movement mechanics than the Souls series.

Dontnod heeft The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit aangekondigd tijdens de Xbox Media Briefing.

De game speelt zich af in het Life is Strange universum, maar ditmaal speel je als 'Captain Spirit' een kleine jongen die graag een superheld wilt worden. Hij woont samen met zijn vader, die aan de drank lijkt te zitten. Tijdens de trailer lijkt het alsof zijn superkrachten echt worden.

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is vanaf 26 juni gratis te downloaden. Het is niet duidelijk of het hier om DLC voor Life is Strange gaat, of een volledig losstaand product.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice aangekondigd

Tijdens de E3 2018 heeft From Software Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice aangekondigd. De nieuwe actiegame van de de makers van Dark Souls en Bloodborne speelt zich af in Japan en wordt uitgegeven door Activision.

De game lijkt zich af te spelen in feodaal Japan. De trailer voor de game toont onder andere hoe je opneemt tegen demonen en krijgers te paard. Ook gebruik je een soort haak om je doorheen te wereld te bewegen.

Het is nog niet geweten voor welke platformen de game uitkomt, en in welke mate de game aanleunt bij Bloodborne en Dark Souls. Wel is aangekondigd dat de game in 2019 lanceert.

Halo Infinite aangekondigd

Halo Infinite is tijdens de Microsoft E3 persconferentie aangekondigd. In het nieuwste deel is de hoofdrol wederom weggelegd voor Master Chief.

In de trailer zie je natuurlandschappen met bossen en bergen. Daarnaast lopen er dieren zoals neushoorns rond en zie je de cockpit van een verlaten ruimteschip. Niet lang daarna doorkruist een Warthog een grote open omgeving.

Inhoudelijk is er nog niets over de game onthuld. Wel wordt er benadrukt dat Halo Infinite gebruikt maakt van de Slipspace Engine.

Tijdens de Xbox Media Briefing zijn de eerste beelden van Ori: The Will of the Wisps getoond.

In de trailer zie je een uilachtig wezen dat leert vliegen en over ijs glijdt. Ori is ook weer terug, en het lijkt er op dat de twee samen werken. Ori vecht weer door actievolle omgevingen terwijl hij puzzels moet oplossen. Dezelfde kenmerkende artstijl van Ori and the Blind Forest is opnieuw aanwezig.

Er is nog geen releasedatum voor de game gedeeld. De game komt voor de Xbox One en de pc uit.

Fallout 76 is four times the size of Fallout 4

Bethesda's Todd Howard stopped by Microsoft's E3 2018 presentation to give a little more info on Fallout 76. Confirming much of what has been theorised already, he says it will be a prequel to all the other games, and will be set in the hills of West Virginia. We will be one of the first to emerge into Fallout's post-apocalyptic wastelands.

More excitingly, we hear it will be the biggest Fallout yet, at more than four times the size of Fallout 4.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is coming in 2019

Ori and the Will of the Wisps has just been announced at the Xbox E3 conference. The game seems to strongly feature a brand new character, who appears to be a newborn owl, working alongside Ori in another beautifully drawn platformer, retaining its stirring orchestral theme.

The release date from Xbox was pretty vague, revealing a date of just 2019. No other concrete details about the game were revealed at the conference. We already knew, however, that the game will come to Xbox One and PC, and it is built in the Unity engine.

The next Halo game is Halo Infinite

Microsoft opened their E3 2018 conference with one of its more predictable announcements - indeed one that borders on inevitable in the remainder of this console generation - there is a new Halo game, and it's called Halo Infinite.

And, for the first time ever, PC gamers should take notice right away, because though it's not been explicitly confirmed in this conference yet, Halo Infinite will almost certainly be the first game in the series to launch on PC at the same time as console.

Halo 6 has been confirmed to be in development for a while, but this is the first we’ve seen of it publicly after a conspicuous absence from E3 last year.  There’s also the possibility of a VR dimension to a future Halo game, after Microsoft were caught looking for a creative director to deliver “an all new VR experience in the Halo universe.” That makes sense, as we know Microsoft are preparing to wade into the VR market with their own range of headsets and they will need a big launch title. Better yet, Steam support is confirmed for them.  

The Halo games follow a super-soldier referred to as Master Chief, who went rogue in the last instalment to seek out Cortana, his former AI companion. Other than hearing Infinite will be his "greatest adventure yet," we don't know anything else so far.

Bethesda heeft voor aanvang van de beurs al Rage 2 en Fallout 76 onthuld. De kans is groot dat beide games ook worden besproken tijdens de presentatie. Ook gaan er geruchten dat er DLC voor Prey in de maak is. Tot slot is er een kleine kans dat er een nieuwe Elder Scrolls-game wordt aangekondigd.

Just Cause 4: release date, new screenshots, and all the latest details

When is the Just Cause 4 release date? Rico Rodriguez is well overdue for a comeback. How is it, then, that we’re still waiting for official confirmation that Just Cause 4 is in development nearly three years after the series’ third instalment? We’re sorely missing tearing dictatorships apart with an unbreakable grapple hook and only a new Just Cause game can scratch that itch. It’s no secret that Just Cause devs Avalanche Studios are busy working on a big new title, and every clue points to Just Cause 4.

The Swedish developer is already busy with Rage 2 and Generation Zero, so it would seem that another triple-A title, such as Just Cause 4, is a stretch. However, thanks to a series of leaks, including screenshots and a pre-order ad that appeared on Steam, we know Just Cause 4 is real. Unfortunately the ad is light on details, but the screenshots leave us with plenty of speculating to do.

High-level Anthem players can play with noobs, and there are rewards for doing so

Anthem will encourage players to play alongside allies of different levels. Speaking at E3, BioWare’s general manager Casey Hudson stated that veteran players would be rewarded to helping new players through the early stages of the game.

In an interview, Hudson stated that the removal of PvP from the game meant that “not only can you play with people of quite different levels, we actually encourage that through a mentor system.” That is also relevant to matchmaking - Hudson says that “early in the game, the people you’ll be paired with actually pretty high level people who are earning achievements” for helping out new players.

Working together is always better, so why not check out some more great co-op games?

It’s so central a part of the game that Hudson says it’s even been built into the story, meaning that new freelancers will be going out on missions with veterans as part of the game’s narrative. That’s likely intended to be a cyclical process, with rookies going on to become those same veterans, before then helping out rookies themselves.

Metro Exodus screenshots have leaked, too

Not to be left out on jumping the E3 gun, Metro Exodus has a set of leaked screenshots online now. And while they aren’t necessarily dense with information, they do provide another few glimpses at the ruined overworld of Metro.

Twitter user lashman, who does visual effects for the Angry Joe Show on YouTube, posted the images today along with three eyes emoji. He told me he’d gotten them from a friend, and had decided not to ask about the source.

The first is a familiar POV shot showing player character Artyom’s hands holding a rifle as he stands beside a massive locomotive, which we’ve seen in Metro Exodus teaser material already. The second is a shot of two soldiers, presumably rangers, posted on the engine itself, along with a large Soviet star on the front of the engine’s boiler.

The next two shots show a couple of the game’s enemies. One is a misshapen humanoid in an underground area, which looks a bit like one of Fallout’s ghouls. However, it has an oddly-shaped nose that looks a lot like the one seen on bat creature seen through a sniper rifle scope in the last shot.

Pillars of Eternity 2 adds luxurious new beards in free DLC

As everyone knows, beards are adventure fuel. That’s why people grow them. In that spirit, Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire now has a new DLC pack available that adds new beards, new hairstyles, and a new personality type. And just like (most) real beards, the DLC is free.

The Beard & Hair Pack is the third free DLC added to Deadfire. Also available are the Rum Runner pack, which allows you to be constantly sauced, and the Critical Role path, which adds eight new character voices from Critical Role’s Vox Machina campaign.

In addition to the three new beard styles and four new hairstyles, the Beard & Hair Pack includes a new personality type, Energetic, for your party members. It’s unclear how well this synergizes with the “Drunken” personality type introduced in Rum Runner.

The new DLC comes alongside an extensive patch for Deadfire. Patch 1.1.0 resolves some edge-case crashing issues users had reported and makes a host of other fixes, but it also introduces some welcome quality of life improvements, like a Refill Ship Supplies button available at storefronts that sell medical supplies, cannon shot, and other, well, ship supplies.

There are improvements to character appearance, which you can change in-game now - very handy if you’d like a brand new beard, for example. Obsidian has also included an option to skip the game’s intro sequence if you’ve already played through it once, and new graphics options have been added.

Anthem is niet offline speelbaar

Op twitter heeft Mark Darrah van Bioware laten weten dat Anthem alleen online te spelen is.

De uitvoerend producent van Anthem liet dit weten nadat hem de vraag werd gesteld of de game offline te spelen is. Anthem is gericht op co-op gameplay, maar is ook alleen te spelen, maar daarvoor moet je alsnog online verbonden zijn.

De Anthem releasedatum is ook op Twitter bekendgemaakt, en tijdens EA Play heeft Bioware meer informatie over de Javelin exosuits bekendgemaakt.
