Microsoft stopt ondersteuning voor Minecraft op de PlayStation 3, Vita, Wii U en Xbox 360

Microsoft maakt bekend dat Update Aquatic de laatste update voor Minecraft op de PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Wii U en Xbox 360 stop. Die update voegt onder andere onderwaterobjecten, dolfijnen en schildpadden toe aan de game.

Volgens Microsoft bedraagt het aantal spelers op die consoles nog amper 5 procent van het totale aantal spelers en is het niet langer interessant om hier nieuwe content voor te ontwikkelen. Voor alle andere platformen staan er wel nog nieuwe updates in het vooruitzicht.

Wie de game op de Xbox One of de Switch speelt, moet wel overschakelen op de Bedrock-versie van de game om verdere updates te ontvangen. Met die versie is het eveneens mogelijk om samen met gamers op andere platformen te spelen.
