Update, May 25: Fortnite has broken its own record for highest monthly revenue.
Fortnite Battle Royale made just a little less than $300 million last month, breaking the record it set in March by more than $70 million.
Fortnite's final figure took it to $296 million, up a total of $73 million in just 30 days. That helped make it the fifth-highest grossing PC game in the world in April, climbing past World of Warcraft to enter the top five. Analysis released by data firm Superdata has revealed some of the game’s meteoric rise.
As well as appearing in the top ten games in PC, Fortnite found success elsewhere - it’s now the highest-earning game on console, beating sales marvel God of War to the top spot (although it's worth remembering that that game doesn't offer microtransactions).

Despite its enormous growth, don't expect this to be as high as Fortnite's revenue goes - early this month Fortnite Season 4 kicked off, with a whole suite of new Battle Pass items to earn and skins to purchase.
On top of that, Epic recently announced that they would be offering $100,000,000 in Fortnite esports prizes over the coming year, which gives you a taste of just how much money they've got at their disposal at the moment.
