With the release of the Curse of Osiris DLC, Bungie have pushed Xur's arrival back a few hours. He'll now appear every Friday at 17:00 GMT (09:00 PST).
Xur has arrived in Destiny 2 once again, and his offering of Exotics will stick around until the Tuesday reset. His location is marked in your in-game director, so just mark his icon and follow your HUD. Here's where he is and what you should buy from him.
Xur is on Io this week, once again distributing his wares near . Set your waypoint to his marker on the world map. He is selling:
- Vigilance Wing, an Exotic pulse rifle, for 29 legendary shards
- Foetracer, an Exotic Hunter helmet, for 23 legendary shards
- Khepri's Horn, an Exotic Titan helmet, for 23 legendary shards
- Sanguine Alchemy, Exotic Warlock chest armour, for 23 legendary shards
- Three of Coins, a consumable which raises the chance of an Exotic drop for four hours, for 31 legendary shards.
- A Fated Engram, which guarantees a non-duplicate Exotic, for 97 legendary shards.
Vigilance Wing is a handsome pulse rifle themed after the rogue Warlock Osiris - the lore tab indicates it was intended as a reward from his Trials. It fires a five-round burst, and will grant health regen and movement speed when nearby allies are killed. Its second perk, Last Stand, improves its performance when you're the last fireteam member left alive, which seems designed to let you clutch in PvP. It's definitely a Crucible gun - there are simply better uses for your Exotic slot in PvE - and it's performed well for us so far: stability is high enough that the five-round burst stays accurate at medium ranges, which enables three-burst kills. Stay near your team for the occasional boost when they die. Overall: mid-to-high tier in PvP, unnecessary otherwise.
Foetracer is a strong pick for Hunters in PvP. It will mark targeted enemies, and deal more damage to low-health marked enemies. This can mean the difference between finishing someone off and having them make a successful escape, and if they do get away, the tracking effect lasts a long time. In the current team-shooting meta, Foetracer is a great choice. Don't bother if the Crucible isn't your thing, though; it doesn't really offer enough to demand your Exotic slot in PvE. You shouldn't (and don't) need any help finding or finishing off adds.
Khepri's Horn offers Solar Rampart, a Barricade-boosting perk which transfers solar damage kills into shorter cooldowns and additional bursts of damage. If you've got some solar weapons to rely on it's an impressive bonus for a Titan's survivability, especially with its other boosts to Resiliance and Health Recovery. We also can't ignore the fashion statement - donning an organic, horned bug face is a real power move.
