Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has been officially revealed to be the 11th game in the core line of Ubisoft’s pseudo-history series of deadly Assassins and dastardly Templars. It appears that this time we’re off to Greece to explore the Assassin Order’s exploits in the land of triremes and Spartan warriors, with current information suggesting we’ll be taking on the role of brand new characters with fresh abilities.
Odyssey was initially leaked to the press in the form of Assassin’s Creed merchandise sporting the new logo and a Greek Corinthian helmet design, but since then Ubisoft itself has confirmed the game will be present at E3.
There are no sandals in our pick of the best sandbox games, but there are certainly open worlds and plenty of assassination possibilities.
But why wait until E3? Thanks to a variety of tipsters, leaks, and information available from both history books and the Assassin’s Creed lore itself, we can already piece together a few ideas as to what Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will be. So join us as we step back in time to discover which neck the hidden blade will puncture next.
